Controller - Arcade racing games

I find it difficult to configure the pad for Arcade system - driving games such Maximum Speed .
After you configure the pad for Dreamcast and Arcade system (Naomi/Atomiswave...) games, the controls do not respond for some driving games . Is there a way to configure them properly? :huh:
